Scholarships Help UC Students Reach Next Level

#GIVINGTUESDAY PERFECT OCCASION TO HELP OTHERS EARN A TRANSFORMATIONAL UC EDUCATION
As all UC alumni can attest, education is a key to bettering oneself and, by extension, positively impacting others. Of all the wonderful things you can do for someone else — especially those whose circumstances may otherwise preclude the possibility — making a gift to a scholarship fund may be the most valuable and mutually rewarding.
Scholarship support is top-of-mind for a couple of reasons:
- It’s National Scholarship Month, a time for elevated awareness of the many scholarship opportunities for current and future college students. At UC, we have said many times that we’re in the business of transforming lives, and scholarships have the ability to do that like nothing else can.
- UC’s annual #GivingTuesday will be Nov. 28, just after Thanksgiving. This year we’re encouraging our alumni and friends to support UC broadly as always, and we’re emphasizing gifts to UC scholarship funds as a way of expressing our gratitude for the impact college has had on our lives.
If scholarship assistance helped you get where you are today, then please consider paying it forward to others. A particularly powerful gesture is giving to the Marian A. Spencer Scholarship Fund which enables outstanding high school students from Cincinnati Public Schools to receive the UC education they’re seeking.
Alumni support for UC scholarships is already impressive — nearly 6,000 donors gave directly to such funds during UC’s last fiscal year. Yet with tremendous room to grow and so many more lives to change, #GivingTuesday offers the ideal opportunity. The latest in our series of limited-edition collectible ornaments will go to each donor of $20 or more, and gifts made between now and #GivingTuesday will be counted in the campaign totals and eligible for the inaugural Big 12 season keepsake.

Thank you for all you do to support your fellow UC family members.
