AACRC Makes History Through Alumni Achievement

CENTER OF UC’S BLACK COMMUNITY MARKS 30 YEARS OF IMPACT
|
UC’s African American Cultural and Resource Center (AACRC) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary as part of UC’s campus ecosystem. These three decades have seen the AACRC create and fortify its reputation for embodying important values of the university. It has provided a “home away from home” for thousands of Bearcats, helping them feel welcome within a place of identity, scholarship, cultural exploration, education and service. In so doing, it has played a significant role in producing an impressive cohort of alumni who have become leaders in business and the community at large. Black History Month offers a perfect opportunity to reflect on the impact of this UC landmark that has become so influential for so many, and to support its ongoing work.
Throughout February, the UC Alumni Association is highlighting impressive accomplishments of Black UC family members via social media channels and at our annual Onyx & Ruby Gala on Feb. 19, where six outstanding Bearcats will be honored with awards presented by the African American Alumni Affiliate. We are proud to come together to honor, celebrate and reflect on the university’s rich history of Black leaders, trailblazers and alumni who conquer barriers, inspire change, and make the world a better place.
Go Bearcats!
