One of the world’s most powerful forces is simple gratitude. When we recognize our own good fortune, it’s natural to want to share it with others. This month’s #GivingTuesday, celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 29, provides a tremendous channel to do so.
Each member of the UC alumni family can point to something in our UC journey that really resonated and changed our lives for the better. Through #GivingTuesday, we can easily convey our gratitude through direct support of causes we can identify with and which also affect many other Bearcats, especially current students.
One is the Bearcats Pantry and Resource Center which provides tangible support to the surprising number of UC students in need of food and fundamental supplies. By serving as a vital safety net, the Bearcats Pantry and Resource Center helps many students be able to stay in school and on track to earn their degrees.
There are surely UC initiatives that speak to you — ones that would benefit from your #GivingTuesday support. Gifts of just $15 or more to any UC fund during this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign will receive our newest limited-edition Bearcat ornament as a thank you. But the greatest benefit is the knowledge that you’ve helped others who are following in your footsteps as lifelong Bearcats. It’s “gratitude in action,” and it’s one of the best things about belonging to the UC family.
