UC Campus a Popular Summer Destination

CAMPS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES ATTRACT FUTURE BEARCATS

students at DAAP camp

“What are your summer plans?” It’s a question commonly asked of middle- and high school students this time of year as thoughts turn to interesting possibilities for summer break. For many of those students in the Greater Cincinnati area, a great answer is “I’ll be camping at UC!”

The range of UC summer camps and other activities is almost as broad as the university’s offerings for its own college students — music, the arts, sports, academic subjects and more. And getting involved in such programs is fulfilling not only for the specific activity’s sake; it also provides a close-up look-and-feel for the UC campus environment, which can help produce the next generation of Bearcats.

I encourage UC alumni parents in the area to get acquainted with these opportunities and see what might fit their children’s interests and enrich their summers — and maybe even alter the trajectory of their lives. You know firsthand that attending UC can be a game-changer, and that’s true even if enrolling in college isn’t happening particularly soon. We hope to see you and your future UC student on campus in the months ahead.
