“Will was very engaging … What a great strategy to build relationships with potential donors.”
Early last year, the UC Alumni Association’s Digital Philanthropy Center opened within the old Armory Fieldhouse facility, the home of so many great basketball victories during the Bearcats’ National Championship era. In a sense, the UCAA is following in those historic footsteps and racking up wins of a different kind: Dozens of dedicated students — from freshmen to graduate-level and spanning a range of colleges — are continuously reaching out to alumni for friendly interaction and to seek support for UC priorities such as scholarship funding.
“Kathryn was wonderful to talk to. She showed genuine interest in me as an alumnus and my journey at UC and beyond.”
The Digital Philanthropy Center’s win-win value proposition is a slam dunk. Alumni cherish a meaningful, personal connection to their alma mater as well as the opportunity to support UC’s future success, while the students who staff the center enjoy their work as they help create a greater UC. And as they earn money to pay for their education, they’re also cultivating skills that will serve them well in life no matter what they choose to do.
If you see an incoming call from UC, it may be one of our outstanding Digital Philanthropy Center students on the line. I encourage you to take a moment to connect with a fellow Bearcat, see where the conversation leads, and make a gift to that part of UC that resonates with you. It’s a great way for Bearcats to unite, perhaps across many miles and grad years, to help elevate the university we all love.
Go Bearcats!
