WEEKEND FESTIVITIES TO WELCOME BACK LIFELONG BEARCAT FAMILY
|
Offering a unique mix of tradition, pageantry, connections and camaraderie, Homecoming promises to pump up the excitement level for everyone in the UC family with a full schedule of activities.
Just look at what’s happening this week:
- Our students are already deep into a variety of Homecoming Week activities designed to build intensity day by day while representing this year’s “Pump It Up” theme.
- Many alumni who remain plugged into their colleges and special-interest groups can attend gatherings where they’ll renew acquaintances, share memories and honor the most accomplished among them.
- Various reunions are welcoming and celebrating classes of alumni who attended school together.
- Friday night’s Homecoming Kickoff Party on Sheakley Lawn in Varsity Village is a high-energy pep rally with great music, food, fun, and visits from Coach Luke Fickell and Athletic Director John Cunningham. We’ll start the festivities at 6 p.m.
- Then comes Saturday when UC family members of all ages will line Clifton Avenue for the annual Homecoming Parade at 10:30 a.m., followed by a packed Nippert Stadium crowd cheering on our Cincinnati Bearcats, who host the South Florida Bulls at 2:30 p.m.
Phrases like “Strength in Unity” and “Thy Loyal Children” are at the heart of the lifelong partnership between UC alumni and our university, and right now they’re on full display. I hope you’ll be able to return to campus this weekend to rekindle your relationship with our alma mater. It’s Homecoming at UC, and we’d love to welcome you back!
