Alumni Make BIG Return for Homecoming

HEY ’CATS! WHERE ARE WE GOING? DOWN THE DRIVE!

UC Alumni Association - Down the Drive Homecoming 2023

One of the greatest experiences you’ll find on the UC campus is being in Nippert Stadium when our student section is doing “Down the Drive.” More than 6,000 students move and sing as one, their youthful exuberance and sheer joy in simply being Bearcats on full display. As we inevitably and quickly join in, we all feel connected — students, alumni, players on the field, and all the Bearcats who have come before us and done the same.

As one of college sports’ premier cheers, the iconic “Down the Drive” has been part of the soundtrack for many memorable highlights in our lives. So it’s a fitting theme for Homecoming 2023, which takes place Oct. 13-14. Every UC Homecoming is special, with this one perhaps a little more so. It’s our first as a member of the Big 12 Conference, and the Bearcats will take on Iowa State on Oct. 14 at noon. The UC Alumni Association will host our Homecoming Kickoff Party on Friday night, with the traditional parade on Saturday at 8 a.m. Our official slate of events is packed, and we’ll be gathering as the university rides tremendous momentum — our highest-ever enrollment and unprecedented institutional achievement, all backed by record levels of alumni engagement and support.

Alumni have told me that they see Homecoming as a time for reflection on the importance of UC in their lives, past and present. I hope that’s how you feel, too, and that you’re able to join us for the full Homecoming experience during our inaugural Big 12 football season.

Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh . . . . UC!

Go Bearcats!
